CCSD Pathways Pavilion — Event Pricing & Strategy Project
Overview
Designed a comprehensive, market-aligned pricing and marketing strategy for a new community-focused event center in the Denver Metro / South Suburban market. This project was approached as a real-world venue planning exercise, requiring strategic thinking, competitive analysis, and operational feasibility rather than a hypothetical classroom assignment.
What I Did
- —Developed the base rate pricing model with a 6-hour full-day rental structure designed for clarity and predictability
- —Created tiered packages (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) to provide scalability and client choice without overwhelming complexity
- —Designed a flexible add-on menu covering staffing, A/V equipment, décor, and catering services to allow customization without forcing full package upgrades
- —Built quadrant-based ballroom pricing framework to optimize space utilization and revenue potential
- —Wrote and delivered speaker notes for multiple presentation slides to school leadership and industry stakeholders
- —Balanced community accessibility with revenue sustainability and operational feasibility
What I Learned
This project deepened my understanding of event pricing as both an art and a science. I learned how to position a venue competitively while staying true to its community-focused mission. Balancing accessibility with operational realities required careful analysis of competitor pricing, cost structures, and client expectations. Most importantly, I learned that effective pricing isn't just about numbers—it's about creating perceived value, building trust with clients, and designing systems that support long-term venue success.
Pricing Strategy & Models
The pricing strategy was built on two core models: a transparent base rate system and a tiered package approach. The base rate model prioritized clarity and ease of booking, making it simple for clients to understand costs upfront. The tiered pricing model—Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond—offered flexibility and scalability, allowing clients to choose packages that fit their budget and event vision. The add-on menu was strategically designed to provide customization options without requiring clients to upgrade to premium tiers unnecessarily. This approach ensures competitive positioning while maintaining operational efficiency.

Outcome & Impact
My work enabled the team to deliver a cohesive, realistic, and defensible proposal to school leadership and industry stakeholders. The pricing framework was structured to be implemented and adjusted over time as the venue establishes its market position. The final presentation was well received, with feedback highlighting the clarity of the pricing structure and the strategic rationale behind each tier and add-on option.
